Welcome Home Bella!!!

This evening we drove about 45 minutes north of our house to meet the breeder to pick up Miss Bella. Although she has only been with us for a few hours, she has been SUCH an angel. She has gone to the bathroom outside 5 times and we had fun running around the yard, running around the basement, and running around our bedroom. Each new room we take her into, it takes her a little while to get acquainted with and she acts a little reserved, but once she has it all scoped out she is ready to run and play!
When we got to the parking lot where we were going to meet the breeder, it was obvious which other people were also waiting. After about 5 minutes of us getting there the breeder showed up with three special puppies. She took the other two out first, and as she handed me Bella, she said "and here's the chunker, she surely hasn't been shy with her eating". Boy was she not kidding. Sweet Bella looked significantly "chunkier" than the other girl and boy that were also being dropped off at same time.

The weather was starting to get rainy and bad, so we headed on the road after the breeder gave them all some love before saying bye. We got on the road and Bella was great in the car. She snuggled right up to me and didn't mind all the raining and lightning around us.

Lots of sweet kisses...

Watching Daddy drive...

Once we got home, we set out a little food for her and filled her water bowl. The breeder said they were fed around 3 and due to the new surroundings, etc they may not want to eat much tonight. No, no, no, not our little "chunker". I filled her bowl up with one serving and within 3 minutes it was gone and she was left licking the bowl.

Evan took her outside and ran around with her in hopes of her also going potty while I fixed us some dinner, and she curled upright beside the table and fell asleep while we ate. She must have really loved her playtime outside with daddy, because she curled up right under his chair and by his feet.

After we finished eating we thought maybe she wanted a little more dinner, so I put a little more out. Sure enough she devoured it immediately. The girl likes to eat, or as her dad would so proudly say, "she's a good eater"!! I am hoping this video below will work, but if not i can email it to anyone that is interested, but she was so determined to get the last two pieces of food, that she made a full circle around her food bowl with her body, not her head or mouth, which also included a bath in her water bowl. The water bowl bath was only about half way around, and she didn't even hesitate although she became soaked, she just kept going around until she got every last piece- it was precious!!!

After eating, peeing, and playing outside more, we went down to the basement to hang out. I caught her already taking after her daddy...... she jumped towards the laptop and seemed interested when ESPN.com was up....

She got some good snuggle time with daddy and the remote....

And then after she became tired of all the playing and drinking her water in the basement, she just plopped down right there to take a nap .... ear in water bowl and all!!

Mommy and Bella also got some good snuggles in tonight...

Then we headed upstairs for her to get acquainted with the room and surroundings before it became night night time..... she is clearly taking after her daddy quite a bit.... i walked into the room and found Evan laying on the floor in this position playing with her, and within a minute, Bella was laying on the floor facing him in the exact same position .... i love them both so much, and this just made me melt!!

Evan in the top right corner, Bella in the bottom left..... and yes, she already has a liking to my shoes -- i will have to remember to keep hiding them!! when they're not on my feet!

We put her in her crate, and she whined a bit at first and patted and crawled up on the sides, but has seemed to calm down, just sounds like she is having trouble getting comfortable to sleep. She isn't whining or crying or making any noise, just rustling around in there every few minutes! Hopefully we have a good first night.

Tomorrow morning we head to our first vet appointment, and then hopefully some friends will come by to play and meet Miss Bella! Thank you Jana (and Brian) for the recommendation, we can't wait to meet Dr Berkowitz tomorrow and have her meet our sweet Bella!!

Night night while the sweet baby snores ever so quietly..... maybe her and her dad will have a snore off! :)
