Since the proposal.....

Well now that I have announced the exciting news, it's time to catch up on everything that has taken place since then......

Besides all the planning, Evan and I went on a fun long weekend trip to Miami. Yes, it was hot and humid, but it was also beautiful, relaxing, and fun!! :)

I honestly thought he might propose in Miami when we first planned the trip, but am glad he didn't wait that long. It surely turned out to be a relaxing time together, all wedding planning aside for a few days, and sun, sand, and water were on the agenda. I will post a few pictures at the end, but it was a most enjoyable trip. We had great dinners, including one night at Barton G's. If you have never been, it is a MUST go in South Beach. Great drinks, great food, and AMAZING presentation!! We slept in each day, had a late breakfast, spent the early half of the day on the beach and by the pool, then late afternoon walked around to see what else was going on besides at our resort. There was great people watching, great places to eat, and oil-free beaches to be enjoyed! :)

We even made a stop by DASH to see if the Kardashians were there.... sadly they were not, and even more sadly, the store didn't seem to be all that exciting, so we made it a quick stop. It was a fun time and I was sad to come back to Atlanta and to reality, but there are wedding plans to be made! :)

The following weekend Evan and I went home to Mobile to see some venues. We had a fun weekend with mom, but missed dad being there too! Dad was in Chicago moving baby bro into the windy city, but we will see him again in a few weeks! We got alot done and had a fun time. It all started to settle in what a fun time these next 10 months are going to be, and how much fun the end result will be as we get married under the chupah, and party down with the band all night afterwards! :) It was fun to start seeing things as they will be on the special day. In a few weeks Dick and Betti will come to Mobile for the first time and we will start to tie even more details down. This weekend we finally get to see Evan's family since getting engaged and celebrate with his family for his cousin Ben's Bar Mitzvah. So on that note, I will leave you with some pictures from our Miami trip, and go finish some packing before leaving for Omaha tomorrow afternoon!!!

PS, since my FIANCE decided to call me out on spelling mistakes in my last post, I will even go as far as do spell check on this one...... oh my!

Here comes the bride ........ and it's ME!!!!

Well, I officially take back everything I said in the last post about life being boring, and not enjoying being an adult...... life the several past weeks has proven me wrong!!! Life as an adult has most definitely been kicked up a notch, and I am officially the luckiest girl in the world, getting to marry my best friend!!! On July 8th Evan shocked me, suprised me, and made my day, week, month, year, and took the "boring" out of life!!! It's wedding planning time!! What a whirlwind of emotion and excitement this has been. I never realized how hectic and busy this really could be. Evan had PERFECT timing, and suprised me with an engagement the night before we were heading home to see my entire family. In conversation a few months ago I told him that if we ever got married, I wanted my engagement to be an absolute suprise, and oh boy it was!! I told him I am nearly impossibly to suprise, but want that one day of my life to be a complete suprise - mission accomplished!! I had also mentioned i would love for my family to either be in town or get to see them soon after, because this momma and daddy's girl couldn't go long without seeing her parents after a big moment like that, and again, he succeded in that goal!! The actual engagement I will not share with, if you haven't heard it already, let me know and I would be happy to share, but im not going to blog about it! :) I truly am such a lucky girl, and can not to begin the rest of our lives together as husband and wife in several months. I am joining another wonderful and close family just like my own, and I could not be more excited to soon be a Robinson!! In addition to the family I have always had and been so close to and love so much, I am marrying into another wonderful family, and am so excited!! I even get two precious nieces and one handsome nephew out of the deal!! :) So all in all, i would say this summer has turned into QUITE the busy time. I will not share wedding details here, because i don't think the entire world wide web needs ot know them, however, soon we will have a wedding website to share all the details with our family and friends!! In the meantime, its planning, planning planning.... bands, venues, florists, caterers, colors, dresses, and cakes, oh my!!! In the end, I get the best prize of all.... spending the rest of my life with my best friend!

I Miss Sweet Summertime....

When did I become a boring adult??!!
I miss the days of summer. I miss having a student schedule and actually having a summer. I miss the days of boredom and freedom. I miss the days of having no schedule, sleeping in, hanging out with friends. I miss the days of not having to be anywhere at any certain time, eating dinner after the sun goes down, enjoying the warm sunny weather, being outside when the sun sets, and sleeping when the sun rises. I now realize I took all those days for granted. Although I have been in the working world for several years now, it is still hard to bite the bullet. Until the alarm goes off every morning at 6am, I think I can live the summer life. I get off work and have all these big aspirations of what "summer activity" I am going to do each afternoon. Then I realize I am working until 6pm some days, and then I am simply too stressed, drained, and worn out to live a summertime life! I look out at the wonderful view I have from my office and think, oh yay summer, can't wait to get out of here and enjoy it. "Getting out of here and enjoying it" usually involves sitting on 285 for enough time to put me in a grumpy mood, at least 2 different "pop up rain showers" which we are so well known for in he south in the summer, a suffocation of thick humid and HOT air after the rain shower, and me then wanting to stay indoors because well i don't really get a summer of fun like i used to! My new definition of "late summer dinners" is ...... drum roll please: 8pm!!! Please also keep in mind these "late summer dinners" only take place on the WEEKENDS as 7pm is now a late week night dinner! Wow- when did i become a grown up. Then again, I am pretty sure my parents now eat later than me. I miss the days of driving to the beach on the weekends to see friends and hang out with friends. I guess I will just have to live vicariously through the memories. I really have no room to complain, we do have a few fun weekends ahead of us, and I have been looking forward to the month of July to arrive for quite some time now! Maybe now it will actually feel like "sweet summertime" to me. Friday morning we leave for Nebraska to spend the 4th with the Robinsons, next weekend we head to Mobile to spend time with my family and for my parents party on Saturday night, the next week and weekend my brother and mom will be in Atlanta for a few days, then Evan and I are heading to Miami towards the end of July for a summer get-a-way - finally! I need some beach and sun in my life again! :) On that note, I guess it is time to act like an adult and do some laundry and get ready for the bed, as although it is "summertime" my alarm will still be going off at 6am! Hope everyone is having a fabulous summer and has some fun things in store.... I surely am looking forward to the next few weeks!! Wishing you all a safe and Happy 4th of July!! xoxo

Welcome to the World Sweet Cooper and Eloise!!

This past weekend Evan and I had plans to go visit his brother Jeff and sister-in-law Zoe in Minneapolis. Zoe was pregnant with two special twin babies (one boy and one girl) and had been in the hospital for a couple weeks already, so we were going up for the weekend to visit and keep Jeff and Zoe company while they spent their time in the hospital and Zoe was on bed-rest before her two babies came into this world. Little did we know that Cooper and Eloise had other things in mind and didn't want to miss out on the visit!!!
Friday morning we woke to the news that Zoe had the babies early in the morning, and we would be there later that evening!! Welcome to the world sweet Cooper John Robinson (2 lbs, 2 oz) and Eloise Payton Robinson (2 lbs, 0 oz)- you are both so very very loved already!! The babies arrived early, and will be growing bigger and spending some time in the hospital to grow and stay healthy, but are doing great, looking great, and in great care!!
Dick and Betti (Evan's parents) got up to Minneapolis Friday morning to see their two new grand-babies, we arrived Friday evening but couldn't see the babies until Saturday morning, and Arnie and Julie (Evan's other brother and sister in law) arrived Saturday afternoon to all get some time with Jeff and Zoe and the two cute babies! It turned into a weekend of visiting with the Robinson family (always a fun time) and lots of time in the NICU spending time with the babies. Before we know it we will all get to hold them, play with them, love on them and watch them grow! Soon they too will have chubby cheeks and thighs which we know I surely can't resist! Mazel Tov Jeff and Zoe on two precious little babies, I can't wait to watch them grow! xoxo

Oh my, where do I begin from where I left off....

Soooooooooo... it has been QUITE some time since i last posted a blog entry, but I have been so busy and so many good things going on that i have not had time to stop and post. I am going to try to change that. I stopped and read through the last several posts, and realize how much i like recording what is going on and looking back on it..... so let's cut to the catching up. I guess you can guess what happened early 2009..... Evan and I started dating and have been dating ever since. The first year of our relationship was spent becoming a Silver Medallion Delta frequent flyer. We flew back and forth from Atlanta to Phoenix, determined to make this relationship last. Finally after a year of back and forth travel my best friend, my boyfriend and he who i can't imagine not having in my life moved to Atlanta to be in the same city as me. I am such a lucky girl, and don't know how i could have possibly gone another week without him living in the same city. Life has been even more wonderful with him here. Now instead of travelling TO see each other we can travel WITH each other. Cheesy, i know, but the facts are the facts. I don't know what I would do without him. More new posts to come..... im back to blogging!!
