Saturday morning we woke up and went to services at synagogue. There is a jewish tradition called an "Auf Ruf" which is the tradition of the bride and groom being called to the torah together prior to their wedding ceremony. The service was great and it meant so much to have this religious ceremony while being surrounded by so many members of our family and friends. After the aliyah we held together, we celebrated by dancing the Hora on the pulpit with both of our sets of parents, and the rabbi. While i can say I have never seen it done before, and definitely didn't expect it, it was most definitely a fun way to remember the event. As we danced on the pulpit, the congregation "showered" us with candy which is a tradition of such a service. Following the service, we headed downtown to the next "main" event of the weekend. Many of my family's dearest family friends and aunts and uncles hosted a WONDERFUL luncheon at the Mobile Mardi Gras Museum. The museum holds such a huge amount of history in addition to being a fun and festive place to hold an event. The food was delicious and in sticking with the "traditions' of Mardi Gras, etc was lots of yummy cajun food! We had a blast and even got up on the "float" that they have built into the museum and threw moon pies to the crowd, of course with the help of Miss Maggie. She had a blast and it was fun for all to gather for lunch. Each event more and more guests showed up as they showed up to town, and it was so fun to see more and more people as the weekend progressed! Below are some pictures of the Saturday morning luncheon. It was a phenomenal time had by all!! :)
Maggie, me and Evan throwing Moonpies from the float!
No, Evan is not running for a political office, but he has the wave down if he was....
I love this picture, and will cherish it for MANY years to come along with so many others from the wedding weekend.. these are all of my "Mutchnick" Cousins. My first and second cousins on my Dad's mom's side of the family!
Some of my parents dearest friends / some of the hostesses for the wonderful event

My dad and his first cousins that were at the wedding on his mom's side of the family

This picture is simply hilarious - and i just now realized that Uncle Bert is the only "out-law" on the Mutchnick side of things.... this is the "outlaw" picture. All those that married a Mutchnick!
